Even though we’ve all been recently reevaluating our relationship with spiritual teachers and after the #metoo movement, there’s been a lot of scandals exposed, I wanted to share my appreciation for my Dharma teachers to whom I’ve devoted most of my adult life to, and them to us. I understand that there are a lot of problems with “Lamaism” and spiritual codependency, but I still treasure in my heart all of the wisdom and gifts that were imparted to me. One or so has been called out for clergy abuse and misconduct, and things do need to change, but I’m still grateful for whatever was positive and helped me to learn and grow. Here’s the list of my closest teachers, to them I will always be indebted and grateful.

Trungpa Rinpoche- I never met you, but you drew me, a brokenhearted pilgrim, to Boulder when I was 19. Through you, I found the precious holy Dharma and meditation practice. My life now has meaning.

Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche- You first showed me my mind, and thank you for upholding your Father’s vision, even in these dark times.

Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche- My Dear Root Guru, your profound oral instruction and blazing blessing and I are never separate.

Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche- You love us all without partiality, I constantly aspire to emulate your warmth. You hug everyone, and smile, no matter the status, it’s always hard to leave you.

Tsoknyi Rinpoche- My friend, brother, Vajra Master, who raised me in this life, any good qualities or fortune I have, I owe to you.

Khenpo Jigme- A true Bodhisattva, who’s kindness helped me during a dark time, and is still there for me. Love always.

Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche- I cry when I even say your name, and appreciate you and your work so!  Amazingly powerful, your skillful activity is beyond words, and you are no less than a Buddha.

Khenpo Tenpa Yungdrung Rinpoche- So kind and gentle, so humble and bright- your ability to teach us such subtle terms in English is incomparable. You once actually served me tea, and expressed real appreciation, which moved me to tears. I am utterly grateful that you are now overseeing my solitary retreats and now, with you, my life and teachings are fully complete.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

With unspeakable love and gratitude to all of my dear teachers. May this life be of benefit.
